A suspect in a vehicle pursuit from Independence, Mo., to Kansas City, Kan., on Tuesday was arrested last night when he went to the University of Kansas Hospital for treatment, according to the Independence police spokesman.
The suspect, Gene F. Madden, 39, is from Lee’s Summit, Mo., police said. He had exited the vehicle in the area of the 3800 block of Lloyd Street in Kansas City, Kan., on Tuesday, fleeing into a wooded area.
An arrest warrant was issued in Jackson County, Mo., circuit court on Tuesday charging Madden, according to the Independence police spokesman.
He is charged with tampering with a motor vehicle first degree, a felony, and resisting arrest – detention – stop by fleeing, creating a substantial risk, a felony.
Madden’s bond was set at $100,000, cash only.
