Two women were injured when a car stopped on a shoulder of I-635 was hit from behind on Wednesday night.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, the Mitsubishi Eclipse was stopped on the shoulder on northbound I-635 past the I-70 exit about 9:35 p.m. when it was hit from behind by a Ford Taurus.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 44-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman, was injured and taken to a hospital in Johnson County.
Also injured was a passenger in the vehicle, a 41-year-old woman from Edwardsville, Kan. She was taken to a hospital in Kansas City, Kan.
The women were not wearing seat belts while the car was stopped on the shoulder.
The driver of the Ford Taurus, a 94-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man, was not injured, the report stated.
