The rains that poured down on Wyandotte County Tuesday were the forerunner of Wednesday’s cooler temperatures.
Temperatures at 9 a.m. Wednesday were 59 degrees, and they are expected to reach a high in the low 70s today, with mostly cloudy skies, according to the National Weather Service. It is 12 to 18 degrees lower than the normal temperature for this time of year.
Today could be a little windy, with winds from the northwest at 5 to 14 mph, gusting as high as 18 mph. Tonight’s low may be near 56.
Dry weather will continue through Saturday. On Thursday, temperatures could rise to a high near 81, the weather service said, and Friday, the high could be 83.
Saturday, there is a 30 percent chance of rain and storms, with a high of 84, according to the weather service.
Unsettled weather will continue through Sunday before drier conditions return early next week.
