Sunny, warm weather persists in Wyandotte County

The National Weather Service predicted a high of 89 today in Wyandotte County.

The region may get some isolated thunderstorms this morning and again late tonight into Saturday morning, the weather service said. Gusty winds and heavy rain are a part of the storm system. In Wyandotte County, the chance of storms tonight is just 20 percent.

Storms are possible Saturday night into Sunday morning, and these will have a better chance of producing severe weather, with the primary threats being large hail and damaging winds, with torrential rain, the weather service said. The chance of storms Saturday night to Sunday morning in Wyandotte County is only 20 percent.

Seasonably warm temperatures will persist through the weekend, with humidity low enough to keep the heat index at or below 100 degrees, according to the weather service.
