Rain is moving out of the Wyandotte County area this morning after overnight and early morning storms.
The temperature has dropped significantly from the extremely heat of the past few days, and today’s high will be near 86, the National Weather Service said.
About a quarter of an inch of rain fell in the past six hours, according to the weather service.
Cooler temperatures and lower humidity will put an end to the excessive heat for the rest of the week, the weather service said.
Thursday’s high will be near 85 and Friday’s, near 89.
