Man dies in accident on Kansas Turnpike

The Kansas Turnpike Authority reported that a man from Kansas City, Kan., died in a traffic accident about 3 p.m. Sunday on I-35 on the Kansas Turnpike.

The victim was identified as Jeremy Leroy Noble, 37, of Kansas City, Kan., according to the trooper’s report. He was a passenger in a Chevrolet utility truck.

The driver was a 41-year-old woman from Westmoreland, Kan., according to the report.

According to the trooper’s report, the driver decided at the last second to try to exit the service area, lost control, went off the roadway, overcorrected a couple of times, went into the left ditch and rolled four times.

The passenger was ejected after the vehicle rolled two times, and the driver was ejected after the vehicle rolled three times, according to the report. The driver survived the accident.

Neither the driver nor the passenger was wearing a seat belt, the report stated.

The accident happened on I-35 between the Emporia, Kan., and Cassoday, Kan., exits on the Kansas Turnpike.
