Heat advisory in effect; another hot day in forecast

Temperatures will warm up again today, reaching a high of 94, with a heat index near 106, according to the National Weather Service.

A heat advisory is in effect from noon today until 9 p.m. July 26, the weather service said. Residents are advised to drink a lot of water, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.

There was a 20 percent chance of rain today, but the chances of rain appear to be over at midday.

Tonight, it will be mostly clear with a low of 76, according to the weather service.

Monday, look for another hot and sunny day, with a high near 95 and heat index as high as 106, the weather service said. Monday, night, the low will be 77.

Tuesday, expect sunny weather with a high near 95, according to the weather service. The wind will be from the south at 10 to 16 mph, gusting to as high as 24 mph.

Tuesday night, there will be a 30 percent chance of storms and showers, the weather service said. The low will be 75.

Wednesday there will be a 30 percent chance of showers and storms, with a high of 86, according to the weather service.
