A few thunderstorms are expected Wednesday into Thursday, however they are not expected to be severe, according to the National Weather Service.

Today’s high temperature will be 80 to 82 degrees and tonight’s low will be 64 to 65, the weather service said. Rain is not in Tuesday’s forecast.

The chance of showers and storms for Wednesday is 30 percent, according to the weather service.

Ongoing flooding along area rivers, creeks and streams will continue through midweek in the region, the weather service said. The Missouri and Kansas rivers in the Wyandotte County area have receded from Monday’s rains, and Turkey Creek is back to closer to normal after its spike on Monday.

Temperatures will return to the region by the weekend, the weather service said. Highs will warm to 93 on Friday and Saturday.
