K-5 over Seven-Mile Creek in Lansing (Leavenworth County) is closed because of high flood waters over the roadway, the Kansas Department of Transportation reported.
K-18 between Manhattan, Kan., and K-99 junction, mile markers 197-198 in Riley County, was reduced to one open lane for both directions because of high flood waters over part of the roadway, KDOT reported. KDOT crews were flagging traffic through the area.
K-18 reopened about 10:40 p.m. Monday after flood waters receded.
Wyandotte County is under a flash flood warning until 9 p.m. tonight.
At 5:24 p.m., the National Weather Service stated that emergency management reported flash flooding north of Basehor, in Leavenworth County, with Brandt Road covered by two feet of water. up to three inches of rain had already fallen at that point.
The weather service advised drivers to turn around when they see water covering the roads.
