Monday’s forecast is sunny, with a high near 87, according to the National Weather Service.

Look for storms coming back into the forecast Tuesday night, the weather service said.

Temperatures will creep into the lower 90s on Tuesday, but heat index values will stay below 100 degrees, according to the weather service.

Expect a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday night, with a low around 71, the weather service said. The wind will change from west southwest to southeast after midnight, the weather service predicted.

Thunderstorms are possible Tuesday night into Wednesday, the weather service said. A few storms could be strong to severe with large hail and damaging winds. Heavy rain is also possible in several places, mainly across northern and central Missouri.

Occasional storm chances will persist into the holiday weekend. At this time it’s too early to determine if any of these storms may be strong or produce flooding, the weather service said.
