The National Weather Service has issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for eastern Wyandotte County until 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 15.

Heavy rain fell across the metropolitan area this afternoon and evening. Around 1.5 inches of rain fell in the last hour in many locations, the weather service said.

Runoff from this rainfall will cause minor flooding to occur, especially along small streams and near low water crossings, the weather service said.

Kansas City, Kan., and surrounding areas may experience minor flooding, the weather service said.

The Kansas and Missouri rivers in Wyandotte County are below flood stage now, according to hydrology charts.
