Ramp, lane closures planned on westbound I-70 near 38th Street

Ramp and lane closures are planned on westbound I-70 collector-distributor left lane over Park Drive on Thursday, June 18, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

Also closed will be the 38th Street-Park Drive to westbound I-70 on-ramp, according to KDOT.

The ramp and lane closures will take place between 3 a.m. and 11 a.m. on June 18, weather permitting, according to KDOT.

A marked detour will be provided. 38th Street-Park Drive ramp traffic will detour via eastbound I-70 and follow a marked detour already in place for the Kaw Drive ramp closure.

Drivers should expect delays during the lane and ramp closure and mush use alternate routes during the ramp closure. Traffic will be directed through the project work zone via signage, cones and barricades.

Overall project work is scheduled to be completed in December 2015, weather permitting.

The Kansas Department of Transportation and the Kansas Turnpike Authority is asking motorists motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and slow down when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
