First stop on the listening tour

Unified Government Mayor Mark Holland kicked off his listening tour of the county on May 26 in the 1st District, at Northwest Middle School, 2400 N. 18th, Kansas City, Kan. The event was well-attended, Commissioners Gayle Townsend, 1st District, and Melissa Bynum, 1st District at-large, also attended. Residents are being asked for their comments on how to spend an estimated $12 million in new revenues to come in to the Unified Government from the payoff of the sales tax revenue bonds at Village West in 2017.  The next stop on the listening tour is District 2, McKinley Elementary, on June 23. Commissioners Brian McKiernan and Bynum are expected to attend.
