A fatal accident was reported today in the 2700 block of Wood Avenue, according to Kansas City, Kan., police.
A spokesman said the Police Department received a call about shots fired in the 3300 block of Wood Avenue about 12:27 p.m. May 8. While they were enroute, dispatchers told the officers that there was an accident at 27th and Wood.
When the officers arrived at the accident, they found three persons with serious injuries and one person deceased outside of the vehicle, the spokesman said.
Three of the occupants in the vehicle were taken to area hospitals in critical condition, the spokesman said. The identity of the passenger will not be released, until there is positive identification and family notification, the spokesman said.
The incident is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s major case unit, which is encouraging anyone with information to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
