Donnelly College, in conjunction with the Downtown Shareholders, held a meeting recently at the college. The meeting was about community policing. On hand were members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and local law enforcement officials.
The officers talked about how the police can work within the community.
According to Special Agent Eric Jackson, the law enforcement officers try to identify who is committing a crime and what is their purpose for committing the crime.
“By getting the involvement of the local citizens within the community, this helps decrease crime within the community,” he said. “This is our third meeting and I am proud to say that it has been highly successful.”
After the meeting was over local citizens had a chance to ask questions.
