The Kansas City, Kan., Rotary Club recently honored one female and one male student in each Wyandotte County high school.
The students are nominated by their schools to compete for a $1,000 college scholarship.
According to a Rotary spokesman, all the students exemplify the highest academic, service and character standards in the community.
The male students, accompanied by family and school representatives, made short presentations to the Rotary Club on April 7 at the weekly luncheon. The female students made a presentation on April 14.
The club will choose one male and one female student to receive the $1,000 scholarship to the college or university of their choice. The scholarships will be awarded at the club’s luncheon April 28.
The Kansas City, Kan., Rotary Club, founded 99 years ago, has approximately 60 members and meets at noon each Tuesday at the Hilton Garden Inn on the corner of 5th Street and Minnesota Avenue in Kansas City, Kan.
