Basehor-Linwood basketball standout Carson Fliger will continue his basketball career at Kansas City Kansas Community College.

“We are very excited about Carson,” said KCKCC coach Kelley Newton. “He’s a winner, hard worker and fundamentally sound.”

A 6-6 power forward who averaged 10 points and six rebounds a game, Fliger helped lead Basehor-Linwood to 24 straight wins before losing to McPherson in the 4A State Championship Game.

Fliger was selected the KSHB-41 Athlete of the Week for his play in a win at Mill Valley. Fliger’s brother, Avery, is a freshman pitcher and outfielder on the KCKCC baseball team.

Alan Hoskins is the sports information director at KCKCC.
