21-year-old KCK woman injured after hitting dump truck that left scene of accident on I-635

A hit-and-run accident at 9:05 a.m. March 11 on I-635 southbound at Parallel Parkway resulted in an injury, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

A 2003 Lexus car was changing lanes on I-635 when it struck an unknown dump truck, according to the trooper’s report. The dump truck left the scene of the accident, according to the trooper’s report.

After the initial impact, the Lexus spun out and struck the center barrier wall, the trooper’s report stated. The Lexus then bounced off the wall, crossed the lanes of traffic, and struck a 2008 Ford sport utility vehicle, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Lexus, a 21-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman, was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated.

The driver of the Ford SUV, a 62-year-old Overland Park man, was not injured, the report stated.
