The University of Kansas Cancer Center will receive proceeds from the University of Kansas’ seventh annual “Jayhawks for a Cure” women’s basketball game at 7 p.m., Feb. 7, at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kan.
KU will play Oklahoma State University. Tickets start at $5. A dollar for every fan at the game will be donated to “Jayhawks for a Cure.” For every KU student attending, an additional $1 will be donated by coach Bonnie Henrickson.
After entering Allen Fieldhouse, fans will receive pink T-shirts, while supplies last. The Jayhawks will wear new white uniforms with pink trim.
Before the game, cancer survivors are invited to form a tunnel to welcome the team on James Naismith Court. Survivors should meet in the northwest tunnel of Allen Fieldhouse with 10 minutes remaining on the pregame clock.
Fans at the game are encouraged to visit the Fun Zone in the northeast concourse and leave personal messages. KU’s concessions partner, Centerplate, will offer pink straws, cups and cotton candy at concession stands. A portion of those proceeds will go to “Jayhawks for a Cure.”
After the game, there will be a live auction on the court. Auction items include traveling with the women’s basketball team to a Big 12 game, participating in a foursome at the Bonnie Henrickson Golf Tournament and receiving women’s basketball season tickets, a Hardwood Club membership, honorary coach opportunities and much more.
Several other pregame opportunities for supporting the fight against cancer will be available. For more information, call 800-34-HAWKS or visit KUAthletics.com/jayhawksforacure.
