Bonner Springs police seek suspect who fled from accident scene

Bonner Springs police sought a suspect who allegedly fled from an accident at 4:50 p.m. Thursday.

Bonner Springs police were seeking a suspect in the area of K-7 and Kansas Avenue, according to a social media post by the Bonner police department.

A suspect crashed into another vehicle, injuring two people, then fled, according to police.

A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report stated that the incident started at southbound K-7 at 130th in Bonner Springs about 4:50 p.m. Thursday.

The suspect, driving a 2015 Chrysler 300, was fleeing from Bonner Springs police northbound on K-7 at 130th, according to the trooper’s report.

The Chrysler turned left in front of a 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia that was southbound on K-7 at 130th, the trooper’s report stated.

The Chrysler failed to yield and collided with the Alfa Romeo, the trooper’s report stated. The driver of the Chrysler left the scene of the accident, according to the trooper’s report.

The trooper’s report stated the driver of the Chrysler was a 26-year-old man. A 23-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman was a passenger in the Chrysler, according to the report. The woman was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated.

The driver of the Alfa Romeo, a 39-year-old man from Kansas City, Missouri, had a possible serious injury and was taken to a hospital, according to the trooper’s report.
