A heat advisory will be in effect from 1 p.m. Monday through 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2.
High temperatures are possible Monday through Wednesday, then showers and storms may move into the area, the weather service said.
A cold front will push through the region Wednesday night, bringing the potential for showers and storms through Thursday and cooler temperatures Thursday and Friday, according to the weather service.
Monday, it will be sunny, with a high near 96 and a heat index as high as 105, with a southwest wind of 5 to 8 mph, the weather service said.
Monday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 75 and a south wind of 7 to 9 mph, according to the weather service.
Tuesday, it will be sunny and hot, with a high near 98 and heat index as high as 106, the weather service said. A south southwest wind of 10 to 16 mph will gust as high as 24 mph.
Tuesday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 80, according to the weather service. A south wind of 11 to 14 mph will gust as high as 28 mph.
Wednesday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., the weather service said. It will be partly sunny and hot, with a high near 97. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.
Wednesday night, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1 a.m., then a chance of more showers and storms after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 72.
Thursday, it will be sunny, with a high near 91, the weather service said.

Friday, it will be sunny, with a high near 90, the weather service said.
