Several planning and zoning items on tonight’s UG Commission agenda

Several planning and zoning items are on the agenda for the Unified Government Commission meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday.

There is also a special session at 5 p.m. today for presentations from Wyandotte County elected officials and UG urban planning and zoning.

Also on the 7 p.m. agenda:

• A resolution to set a public hearing on the adoption of the proposed 2023 budget and amended 2022 budget, tentatively scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 22;
• An update from the UG Health Department and Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department on the opioid crisis;
• The UG’s annual Comprehensive Financial Report;
• An update on finance assessment by the interim county administrator;
• An update on the county administrator search process;
• An agreement between the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department and the Kansas City, Missouri, Board of Police Commissioners;
• A resolution of the draft 2022-2026 Consolidated Plan and 2022 Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice, from the director of Community Development;
• An ordinance to reallocate American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to reflect revised revenue replacement calculations;
• Nomination of Ashley Williamson to the UG Park Board, submitted by Commissioner Melissa Bynum;
• Nomination of Rocki Mayes to the Wyandotte County Library Board, submitted by Commissioner Tom Burroughs;
• Nomination of Micki Hill to the Wyandotte County Library Board, submitted by Commissioner Harold Johnson.
