More rain possible through Thursday

After storms moved through Wyandotte County overnight and this morning, the chance still remains for more rain today through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

A round of isolated showers is possible later this afternoon, the weather service said.

Rain and a few thunderstorms are expected to increase overnight around midnight, according to the weather service.

The best chance for accumulating rainfall will be along and north of the Missouri River, the weather service said. The risk of flooding is higher in central and eastern Missouri.

Additional rounds of rain are expected through Thursday, according to the weather service.

Today, there is a 20 percent chance of showers, with thunderstorms possible after 3 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 83 with an east southeast wind of 5 mph becoming calm.

Tonight, there is a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m., then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., followed by showers and thunderstorms after 4 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 72 with a light and variable wind. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Wednesday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m., with a high near 88, the weather service said. A calm wind will become north around 5 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

Wednesday night, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 70 with a light east wind. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Thursday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 83 with a calm wind becoming north northeast around 6 mph in the morning. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Thursday night, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 65, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 81, the weather service said.
