Fairfax history exhibit at Wyandotte County Museum
An exhibit on the history of the Fairfax industrial district is running through Sept. 24 at the Wyandotte County Museum, Bonner Springs. The Fairfax Industrial District 100th Anniversary exhibit will show the progression of the district alongside personal memories, and will include familiar and untold stories of people, places and events in the district. The Fairfax district is in the northeast area of Kansas City, Kansas. Visitors will see products made in Fairfax, together with items employees saved from their time in Fairfax. The Wyandotte County Museum is located in Wyandotte County Park, 631 N. 126th St., Bonner Springs, Kansas. It is open to the public, free of charge, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Saturday. The Wyandotte County Museum is operated by the Unified Government, with support from the Wyandotte County Historical Society and Museum Inc., a 501c3 non-profit. Farmers’ Market continues
The Bonner Springs Farmers’ Market continues from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Centennial Park, 206 E. Cedar St., in Bonner Springs. There is a senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program there, and those 60 and older may pick up booklets of $35 in vouchers for fresh produce, cut herbs and honey between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Saturdays. The program is through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
Auditions tonight at Alcott Center
Auditions for the Shakespeare in the Parking Lot production at the Alcott Arts Center will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 9. This year’s play will be “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” by William Shakespeare. It will be performed outdoors Sept. 10-11 and 17-18 at the Alcott Center. Those auditioning should bring a head shot and a resume. There will be a cold reading from the script. All ages and genders are welcome to audition. The Alcott Center is not ADA accessible. Movie night at Legends Outlets tonight
Movie night at the Legends will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 9, with a showing of “Moana.” The free outdoor movie screening will be on The Legends Lawn, which is on the west side of the shopping center near the smokestack. Family-friendly movies are planned on Saturday nights during the summer on the big screen at The Lawn. The Legends Outlets is located near I-435 and (-70 in Kansas City, Kansas.
