Homicide victim on North 26th identified

The victim of a homicide on April 30 in the 1800 block of North 26th has been identified, according to a police spokesman.

The victim was Tiara Adams, 32, the spokesman stated. Adams was found deceased at the scene from a confirmed gunshot wound.

The suspect was identified as Timothy Jenkins, 34, according to the police spokesman. He was found dead at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the spokesman stated.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department spokesman stated that those who are in a domestic violence situation may receive help from the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233 and also from the KCK Police Department’s Victim Services Unit at 913-573-5616. The domestic violence hotline is answered around the clock.

  1. Her daughter was also wounded in the shooting. The suspect who died of the self inflicted gunshot wound was on state and federal parole. Tiara was a good friend to many people.
