Showers and storms are in the Wyandotte County forecast from Friday through Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service.
There will be isolated thunderstorms on Thursday generally to the east of the Kansas City area, the weather service said. The Thursday storms are not part of the Wyandotte County forecast.
On Friday, a cold front moves into the area. There will be a slight chance of showers after 1 p.m., and the west southwest wind will change to the north, gusting p to 21 mph, according to the weather service.
On Friday night, the chance of showers and thunderstorms increases to 70 percent, with a chance for a quarter to half-inch of rain, the weather service said. Quarter-sized hail is possible with this storm.
The storm continues Saturday, with an additional tenth to quarter-inch of rain possible, according to the weather service. The rain ends on Saturday night, and skies on Sunday should be mostly clear. Highs will be in the 60s on Saturday and Sunday.
Today, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 87 and a south wind of 6 to 14 mph, gusting to 22 mph, the weather service said.
Tonight, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 68 and a south wind of 10 to 16 mph, gusting as high as 31 mph, according to the weather service.
Friday, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., with a high near 77, the weather service said. A west southwest wind of 6 to 11 mph will become north in the afternoon,and winds may gust as high as 21 mph.
Friday night, there is a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 55 with a north northeast wind of 9 mph, gusting to 18 mph. Between a quarter and half-inch of rain is possible.
Saturday, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., the weather service said. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. A north northeast wind of 9 to 14 mph will gust as high as 24 mph. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.
Saturday night, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 45.
Sunday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 65, the weather service said.
Sunday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 48, according to the weather service.
Monday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers after 1 p.m., with a high near 67, the weather service said.
Monday night, there is a 60 percent chance of showers, mainly after 1 a.m., according to the weather service. The low will be around 54.
Tuesday, there is a 60 percent chance of showers, with a high near 66, the weather service said.
Tuesday night, there is a 50 percent chance of showers, with a low of 53, according to the weather service.
Wednesday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers, with a high near 70, the weather service said.
