Snow is in the forecast after midnight Wednesday and all day Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Three to five inches of snow will be possible on Thursday in Wyandotte County, the weather service said. Snow totals are likely to be higher north of I-70, according to the weather service.
The snow could continue all day on Thursday, ending midday on Friday, according to the forecast. Timing and location of the snow is not certain at this time, forecasters added.
Well below normal temperatures are possible Thursday through Saturday, the weather service said. The high will be near 30 on Thursday, dropping to 16 on Thursday night, then a high of 32 on Friday, dropping to 6 on Friday night. Saturday’s high should be around 37.
The temperatures will rebound on Sunday, as the high will reach 56. Monday’s high will be near 60.
Today, there will be increasing clouds, with a high near 44, the weather service said. A southwest wind will be 3 to 6 mph.
Tonight, it will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low of 26, according to the weather service. A light and variable wind will become west around 6 mph after midnight.
Wednesday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 42 and a northeast wind of 6 to 9 mph, the weather service said.
Wednesday night, there is a 50 percent chance of snow after midnight, with a low of 24, according to the weather service. A northeast wind of 8 to 11 mph will gust as high as 20 mph.
Thursday, there is a 70 percent chance of snow, with a high near 30, the weather service said. A northeast wind of 10 to 14 mph will gust as high as 22 mph. From 3 to 5 inches of snow are possible.
Thursday night, there is a 60 percent chance of snow, mainly before midnight. The low will be around 16.
Friday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 32, the weather service said.
Friday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 6, according to the weather service.
Saturday, it will be sunny, with a high near 37, the weather service said.
Saturday night, it will be clear, with a low of 27, according to the weather service.
Sunday, it will be sunny, with a high near 56, the weather service said.
Sunday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 40, according to the weather service.
