Accidents occurred when I-435 in KCK became icy

Three vehicles collided on an icy bridge at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, on I-435 northbound in Kansas City, Kan., according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

A 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe spun out of control on the icy bridge and struck the outside barrier wall on northbound I-435, the trooper’s report stated.

Next, a Ford Taurus struck the Tahoe while spinning out of control, the report stated.

Then, a semi got sideswiped when the Tahoe and Taurus collided, the report said.

The driver of the Tahoe, a 53-year-old man from Lenexa, Kan., was not injured, according to the report.

The driver of the Ford Taurus, a 47-year-old man from Kansas City, Mo., also was not injured, the report said. A passenger in the Taurus, a 42-year-old woman from Kansas City, Mo., had a possible injury and was taken to a hospital, according to the report.

The driver of the semi, a 30-year-old man from Blue Springs, Mo., was not injured, the report stated.

Driver injured in wreck on I-435 in KCK

A driver was injured at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, in an accident on I-435 northbound near Wolcott Road in Kansas City, Kan.

The Honda Accord was northbound when it lost control and struck a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe that was unoccupied, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report. This was the same Chevrolet Tahoe that had been in the wreck on the bridge 15 minutes earlier (according to the license number).

There were slick road conditions in the area at that time.

The driver of the Honda, a 27-year-old man from Maryville, Mo., was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated.
