Very cold temperatures in today’s forecast

Very cold temperatures are in today’s forecast from the National Weather Service.

The high will be near 18, with wind chill values between minus 8 and 2, the weather service said.

Single-digit temperatures are expected Thursday and Friday mornings with wind chills below zero possible, according to the weather service.

Some areas received more snow overnight. Areas of the region to the south and east of the Kansas City area received more snow overnight. A dusting of snow was possible here, according to the weather service, potentially affecting travel.

No more precipitation is in the forecast for the next week, the weather service said.

Temperatures will warm up on Saturday, climbing out of the freezer and reaching a high of 38, according to the weather service.

Sunday will see a high of 41, and on Tuesday, temperatures may reach 48, the weather service said.

Today, it will be cloudy through mid-morning, then mostly sunny, with a high near 18, the weather service said. The wind chill will be between minus 8 and 2. A north northeast wind of 10 to 14 mph, gusting as high as 21 mph.

Tonight, it will be mostly cloudy, then gradually clear with a low around 2, according to the weather service. A north wind of 5 to 8 mph will become calm after midnight.

Friday, it will be sunny, with a high near 31, the weather service said. The wind chill will be between zero and 10. A light west southwest wind will increase to 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Winds may gust up to 21 mph.

Friday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low around 11, according to the weather service. A west northwest wind around 5 mph will become calm.

Saturday, it will be sunny, with a high near 38, the weather service said. A south southwest wind of 6 to 15 mph will gust as high as 25 mph.

Saturday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 19, according to the weather service.

Sunday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 41, the weather service said.

Monday, it will be sunny, with a high near 36, the weather service said.
