“An amendment to the ordinance on a vehicle stipend for the mayor. The amendment provides for a monthly stipend for the mayor’s vehicle costs. Currently the ordinance provides for a UG car, fuel and maintenance for use while in office.”
So if the mayor gets a free car, free fuel, and free maintenance, WHY does he need to get a stipend? For what? He already gets a salary of around $140,000 (?). That isn’t enough? Giving him a stipend just adds to cost of doing “business” which will no doubt SOMEWHERE raise taxes. I say this is a stupid idea.
