Enroll Wyandotte will hold a Health Fair and Enrollment event this weekend in an effort to help residents sign up through the Health Insurance Marketplace.
The event will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at Memorial Hall, 600 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kan.
Mayor Mark Holland will attend the event to talk about data from the 2013-2014 enrollment period and discuss the initiative moving forward.
Volunteers will be available to answer questions in English and Spanish about the Affordable Care Act and assist with the application process.
The deadline for individual enrollment in Feb. 15, 2014.
Screening services will be available at the health fair, including blood pressure, body mass index, and blood sugar checks. The event is open to the public and child care will be provided for those who attend.
Enroll Wyandotte is a group of local organizations working together to educate the community about the Affordable Care Act, and assist individuals signup up for health insurance through the Marketplace.
