The 500 REACH Community Learning Center celebrates the awarding of high school diplomas to adult students who have successfully completed their coursework for a high school diploma.
The graduation ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at the Trinity Community Church, 5010 Parallel Parkway, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Center. The commencement speaker will be Juan Rangel, the director of Donnelly College’s Gateway to College program.
The 500 REACH Community Learning Center, located at 4837 State Ave., in Kansas City, Kan., provides adult students who have not completed high school the opportunity to earn a high school diploma from the Kansas City Kan., School District using a self-paced computer-assisted program.
All courses meet the required Kansas standards. Kansas City, Kan., Public Schools, USD 500, joins with the Southeast Kansas Educational Service Center to provide the program at the 500 Reach location. 500 Reach is completing its 12th year in the community and is currently enrolling Kansas residents, 18 and older, for the 2015-2016 school year.
