American Legion auxiliary plans car – lowrider show Oct. 16

American Legion Post 213 Auxiliary will hold a car – lowrider show and chili cookoff on Oct. 16 at 1044 S. 26th St., Kansas City, Kansas.


The event will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16.

There will be free admission for the public. Food and vendors will be available. Also, there will be a kids’ corner.

Proceeds from the event will go to help families during the Christmas holidays.

Registration for car entries will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

There will be a minimum $20 donation for the car entry fee. Trophies will be awarded. For more information on car entries, call 816-438-1066.

Today’s weather will be cloudy with a high near 74, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a slight, 20 percent, chance of showers on Wednesday, with more activity possible to the east of Wyandotte County, the weather service said.

Above normal temperatures are expected into the weekend, according to the weather service. The high could reach 89 on Saturday before dropping to 76 on Sunday.

Today, there is a 20 percent chance of showers after 4 p.m., the weather service said. Patchy fog is possible before 10 a.m. It will be partly sunny, with a high near 74 and a northeast wind of 3 to 6 mph.

Tonight, there is a 10 percent chance of showers before 7 p.m., with a low of 61 and a light and variable wind, according to the weather service.

Thursday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 77 and a calm wind, the weather service said.

Thursday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 61 and a light south southeast wind, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be sunny, with a high near 85 and a south wind of 6 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 66, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 89, the weather service said.

Saturday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 66, according to the weather service.

Sunday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers after 1 p.m., with a high near 76, the weather service said.
