Police seek public’s help to identify suspect in attempted abduction

Police released this photo of a 1994 Honda Accord Hatchback that is thought to be involved in an alleged attempted abduction on Oct. 7 at Carl Bruce Middle School, 2400 N. 18th St., Kansas City, Kansas.

Kansas City, Kansas, police are asking the public to help identify a suspect and vehicle involved in an alleged attempted abduction about 3:06 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Carl Bruce Middle School, 2400 N. 18th St.

Two adult females were the victims who the suspect attempted to abduct, according to police. School staff disrupted the incident and the suspect fled the scene in a 1994 Honda Accord Hatchback with Kansas tag 122NPE, police stated.

A man possibly in his 40s with a tall, slender build, wearing a gray shirt, was involved in the incident, according to police.

The incident occurred in the pickup lane on southbound 18th Street while many parents were waiting for dismissal, police state.

Detectives said there may be parents and others whom they have not spoken with who witnessed the incident or caught it on video.

They are asking those persons or anyone who may recognize the vehicle to immediately contact them at 913-573-6012.

All information will be kept confidential, a police spokesman said.

Turner Day returns
