Mainstream Coalition to hold candidate forums Tuesday and Wednesday

The Mainstream Coalition is sponsoring an online candidate forum for Kansas City, Kansas, mayor at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, on Zoom.

Candidate forums planned next week

Candidate forums sponsored by Business West are planned next week.

Candidates for offices on the primary ballot have been invited to participate in the forums.

Forums will be conducted online this year, similar to last year’s forum, and then will be broadcast later on the Kansas City Kansas Community College cable television station and also on YouTube.

They will not be in-person forums, and there will not be an audience during the forums. The forums will not be debates. The moderator will be Murrel Bland.

Candidates will present information, and questions will be asked by local panelists.

GOP candidates to speak July 25

The Wyandotte County Republican Women are holding a meet-and-greet luncheon with Republican candidates on Sunday, July 25.

The event will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 25, at the Moose Lodge, 6621 Turner Drive, Kansas City, Kansas.

Lunch will be available upon purchase, and donations will be accepted at the door.

Several candidates are planning to attend.

Candidates include Carolyn Caiharr, running for mayor of Edwardsville; Chris Steineger, running for mayor of Kansas City, Kansas; Daniel Soptic, running for Wyandotte County Sheriff; Daran Duffy, running for mayor of Kansas City, Kansas; Dennis Grindel, running for Board of Public Utilities, at large, position 2; Diana Whittington, running for Unified Government Commission, District 8; Eleanor Morales-Clark, running for UG Commission, District 5; J.
