Shooting into home on North 29th reported

A shooting into an occupied dwelling was reported at 10:45 p.m. Nov. 9 in the 1800 block of North 29th, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Officers responded to a call from dispatch about a shooting into an occupied dwelling. The victim told police an unknown suspect began shooting at the victim’s home, the report stated.

There were no injuries, according to the report.

Domestic disturbance reported on Harmony Drive

A domestic disturbance was reported at 10:32 p.m. Nov. 9 in the 5100 block of Harmony Drive, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Officers responded to a dispatched domestic disturbance call, the report stated. A suspect blocked the victim from leaving the home, according to the report.

The victim later was able to unlock the door, and officers were able to go inside the residence, according to the report. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Wyandotte County Jail, the report stated.

Homicide victim identified

The victim of a homicide at 6:05 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, near 10th and Lyons has been identified, according to a Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department spokesman.

The victim was Jason Lopez Mena, 19, a resident of Kansas City, Kansas, police stated.

Mena died from apparent gunshot wounds, police said. He was driving south on 10th Street when his vehicle was struck by gunfire, fatally injuring him and causing the vehicle to come to a stop after impact with a parked vehicle, according to police. No other injuries were reported.

There were no suspects in custody, police said. The Kansas City, Kansas, Criminal Investigation Division is investigating. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS, police stated.
