The victim of a homicide on Silver Court has been identified, according to the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
The victim of the homicide, which occurred at 11:28 a.m. Sept. 29 in the 2200 block of Silver Court, was Lolester Mitchell, 23, a resident of Kansas City, Kansas, according to a police spokesperson.
Officers found him deceased inside a residence, according to the spokesman.
The incident is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau. Police encourage anyone with information to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
Officers responded to an armed disturbance call at 11:37 a.m. Sept. 30 in the 7500 block of Nebraska Avenue, according to a social media post by the Kansas City Kansas, Police Department.
One victim had been struck in the face by the suspect, causing injury, according to the report. The suspect then brandished a handgun and fired shots in the direction of the first and second victims.
The suspect then produced another weapon, after being disarmed, and the victims retreated to a secure place and notified police, according to the report.
The suspect was taken into custody, according to the report.
Shots fired into occupied vehicle on North 49th Drive
Officers responded to a call about a shooting into an occupied vehicle at 7:40 p.m. Sept. 30 in the 4100 block of North 49th Drive, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
While the victims were looking at real estate, they saw an unknown sport utility vehicle parked along the road, according to the report.
The SUV followed the victims, pulled up to the victim’s vehicle and shot into the vehicle multiple times, according to the report.
There were no injuries, according to the report.
Victim injured in shooting into vehicle on Barnett
A victim was struck, causing a minor injury, at 12:01 a.m. Sept. 29 in the 600 block of Barnett, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
The victim was in a vehicle when the shooting took place, according to the report. The victim walked in to the hospital after the shooting.
Burglary reported on North 10th
An aggravated burglary was reported at 5:25 p.m. Sept. 29 in the 100 block of North 10th Street, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
When officers arrived, the victim said that while she was cleaning the building with her headphones on, property was taken. The victim observed two suspects holding her property, according to the report.
The suspects brandished a large knife and demanded money, the report stated. The suspects then returned the victim’s property and fled, according to the report.
