Accident reported on I-635 near Parallel Parkway

An accident was reported at 3:25 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, on southbound I-635, south of Parallel Parkway, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s crash log.

A Ford Escape and a Hyundai Sonata were southbound on I-635 when the Sonata slowed to a stop to avoid debris, according to the trooper’s report. The Escape could not stop in time and rear-ended the Sonata, the report stated.

The driver of the Escape, a 64-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman, was taken to a hospital with a possible minor injury, according to the report.

A passenger in the Escape, a 17-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, girl, also was taken to the hospital with a possible injury, the report stated.

The driver of the Sonata, a 42-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman, had no apparent injury, according to the report.

Injury-accident reported on K-5

An injury-accident was reported at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the entrance ramp from 18th Street to eastbound K-5 in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash log.

According to the trooper’s report, a Chrysler Sebring was on the entrance ramp from 18th Street to eastbound K-5 when it left the ramp and crossed K-5 eastbound and westbound. The vehicle then went down an embankment across the exit ramp and struck a fence, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver, a 40-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, had a possible injury and was taken to the hospital, according to the report.

Battery reported on Central Avenue

An aggravated battery case was reported at 12:49 a.m. Oct. 2 in the 1100 block of Central Avenue, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Officers found a victim standing outside with lacerations to the face. The victim said a suspect cut her and another victim several times in an apartment, according to the report. The victims were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The suspect was taken into custody and taken to a hospital for treatment, the report stated.

Shooting reported on North 55th

Officers responded to a hospital where a gunshot victim walked in about 3:30 p.m. Oct. 2, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The victim said while he was working out at an area park, he was struck on his back by a stray bullet, in the 2500 block of North 55th.

The victim did not provide any suspect information, according to the report. The case is being handled by the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Department.
