Gun pointed at victim after Chiefs lose

According to a Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department social media post, a gun was pointed at a victim about 5 p.m. Oct. 11 in the 300 block of South Mill after the Chiefs lost to the Raiders.

An individual who was known to the victim pointed a gun at the victim and witnesses, placing them in fear for their lives, according to the report.

A physical fight followed when one of the witnesses tried to disarm the suspect, the report stated.

The suspect fled. Officers recovered the gun at the location, according to the report.

Shooting reported on North 35th

A shooting was reported at 10:08 p.m. Oct. 11 at 300 N. 35th St., according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

A victim said an unknown suspect or suspects discharged a firearm into his home while he was inside, according to the report.

Bullets also struck the victim’s vehicle, the report stated.

Accident reported on I-70 near 110th Street

A possible injury was reported at 2:04 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, in an accident on westbound I-70 at the 110th Street exit, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

Involved in the accident were a Kenworth truck and a Dodge Dart.

A 4-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, girl and a 10-year-old KCK girl who were passengers in the Dart had a possible minor injury, according to the report. Transport to a hospital was declined, according to the report.

The driver of the Dart, a 29-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man, had no apparent injury, according to the report.

The driver of the Kenworth truck, a 56-year-old man from Pittston, North Carolina, had no apparent injury, according to the report.

Today’s forecast from the National Weather Service includes windy, dry weather with temperatures in the 70s.

A cold front moved through the area overnight, the weather service said. Winds could continue through the morning and afternoon, according to the weather service. The forecast changes to light winds tonight.

Low humidity values on Wednesday, with gusty winds, may lead to elevated fire weather risk, the weather service said.

Another cold front moving in on Thursday will result in a large drop in temperatures, although there is no freeze in the forecast for Wyandotte County, according to the weather service.

A big change in temperatures will be seen on Thursday, with predicted high temperatures dropping from 82 on Wednesday to 59 on Thursday, the weather service said.

Some areas could see patchy frost on Friday morning, according to the weather service.

Today, Columbus Day, it will be sunny with a high near 71 and a northwest wind of 10 to 15 mph, gusting as high as 24 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, it will be clear with a low of 52 and a light southwest wind becoming south southwest 5 to 9 mph in the evening, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, it will be sunny, with a high near 76 and a southwest wind of 7 to 10 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, it will be clear, with a low of 54 and a light and variable wind becoming south around 5 mph after midnight, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be sunny, with a high of 82 and a south wind of 7 to 17 mph, gusting as high as 29 mph, the weather service said.

Wednesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 49, according to the weather service.
