Cooler than normal temperatures are in store for Wyandotte County through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Today’s high will be near 78, with Tuesday reaching 79 and Wednesday, 81, the weather service said.

A near-record low of 55 is predicted for tonight’s low, according to the weather service.

Today, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 78 and a north wind of 7 to 10 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, the low will be around 55 with a north wind of 3 to 8 mph, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 79, and a northeast wind of 3 to 7 mph, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low around 59 and an east northeast wind of 6 mph becoming calm in the evening, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 81 with a light south southeast wind.

Wednesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 63, according to the weather service.

Thursday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 85, the weather service said.

Thursday night, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m., with a low of 70, according to the weather service.

Friday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m., with a high near 88, the weather service said.

Friday night, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m., with a low of 72, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 90, the weather service said.

Saturday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 74, according to the weather service.

Sunday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 90, the weather service said.

Today is last day for advance voting in person

Monday, Aug. 3, is the last day for advance voting in person before the Aug. 4 primary election.

Advance voting is being offered from 8 a.m. to noon Monday, Aug. 3, at the Wyandtote County Election Office, 850 State Ave., Kansas City, Kansas.

Registered voters may vote on Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 4, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. at their assigned polling places. A few polling places have changed this election, and voters may check their polling places and whether they are registered to vote at the Voter View website at https://myvoteinfo.voteks.org/voterview.

Mail ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday, Aug. 4, and received by the election office in the mail by Friday, or they can be dropped off in person at any polling place while polls are open on Tuesday, Election Day. The deadline for requesting a mail ballot has already passed, and was last Tuesday.

COVID-19 testing planned today

Free COVID-19 testing is planned today from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Aug. 3 at the Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 9301 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas.

The pop-up test is offered through Vibrant Health and the Health Equity Task Force.

Free testing also is offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Unified Government Health Department parking lot at 6th and Ann, Kansas City, Kansas.
