Driver forgets to lower dump truck, hits sign on Highway 7

A dump truck was southbound on Highway K-7 at State Avenue at 9:35 p.m. June 29 in Wyandotte County when it hit a sign, according to a crash report by the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The dump truck’s driver forgot to lower the dump truck and struck an overhead sign, the report stated. It was a 2019 Kenworth T800, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver, a 25-year-old man from Lees Summit, Missouri, had a possible minor injury and was taken to the hospital, the report stated.

A suspect brandished a machete and advanced toward a victim during an argument at 11:40 a.m. June 30 in the 6700 block of Cleveland Avenue, according to a social media post from the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The suspect fled before officers arrived, the report stated. There were no injuries.

Stabbing, robbery reported on Wood Avenue

A suspect stabbed a victim and took his money about 5:20 p.m. June 30 in the 3300 block of Wood Avenue, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The victim had non-life-threatening injuries, the report stated.
