Name released of fatal traffic accident victim on I-635

The victim of a fatal accident at 3:30 a.m. Friday, July 3 on I-635 four-tenths of a mile south of Parallel Parkway has been identified.

The victim was Lashonda Denice Ikerd, age 34, of Kansas City, Kansas, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

Ikerd was walking on I-635 in an unknown direction when a Jeep Compass driven by a 50-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman struck her, according to the trooper’s report.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Victim suffers injuries to face at 108th and Parallel

During a verbal altercation at 1:55 p.m. July 3 at 10824 Parallel Parkway, a suspect struck a victim multiple times in the head, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The victim sustained serious injuries to the face, the report stated. The suspect fled before officers arrived, according to the report.

Victim stabbed on South 26th

A victim stated that during a verbal argument, a suspect stabbed him in the leg, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The incident occurred at 11:38 p.m. July 3 in the 100 block of South 26th Street.

The victim had non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report.

Victim injured during robbery

A victim was robbed at 12:30 a.m. July 3 in the 1000 block of Rowland Avenue, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The victim stated that the suspect asked for money. When the victim refused, the suspect struck the victim several times, causing serious injuries, according to the report.
