Another fatal accident was reported on I-635 at 10:15 p.m. Friday, July 3, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

According to the trooper’s report, a Chevy Cobalt was northbound on I-635 in the middle lane, between the I-70 and State Avenue exits, when it struck and killed a pedestrian who was running across the roadway.

The pedestrian, Frank E. Clark III, 49, of Kansas City, Kansas, suffered a fatal injury, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Cobalt was a 49-year-old Olathe, Kansas, man, according to the report.

There had been another fatal pedestrian accident around 3:30 a.m. July 3 on I-635 near Parallel Parkway. That vehicle also was traveling north.

Kansas City, Kansas, police responded to a shooting call at 4:31 a.m. Sunday, July 5, in the 3000 block of West 40th Terrace, according to a spokesman.

When officers arrived, they found a deceased male who had an apparent gunshot wound, the spokesman stated.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating it as a homicide.

The spokesman stated that anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating a homicide at 2:23 a.m. Sunday, July 5, in the 1000 block of Ridge Avenue.

According to a spokesman, police received a call about a shooting.
