Robbery, battery reported on North 18th

Two victims told police they were socializing in the 1200 block of North 18th Street on July 23 and then left, according to a Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department social media post.

After the victims left, the suspect called them and asked them to return, the report stated. When they returned, the suspect produced a knife and threatened to kill both victims, according to the report. The incident took place at 10 a.m.

Property was taken by force from one of the victims and the suspect struck the second victim in the head, the report stated. The suspect was taken into custody and detectives responded.

Armed robbery reported on County Line Road

An armed robbery was reported at 10:35 a.m. July 23 in the 700 block of County Line Road, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

According to the report, a victim said that an unknown suspect entered an address with a handgun and demanded money and cigarettes.

The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction, according to the report. Detectives and crime scene investigators responded.

Shootng into vehicle reported on Longwood

A shooting into an occupied vehicle was reported at 1:45 p.m. July 23 in the 2000 block of Longwood, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department. When police arrived the victim said that suspects drove by him and started shooting.

The victim’s vehicle was struck, and the victim was not injured, according to the report. Detectives and crime scene investigators responded.

Burglary reported on Puckett

An aggravated burglary was reported in the 3000 block of Puckett Road about 4:13 p.m. July 23, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The victim said she had left her apartment to do laundry and locked the door. When she returned, she saw one of her outside doors was open, and other property was inside her residence, she stated.

Additional victims later said that a suspect knocked on their door and tried to push his way in, the report stated. The suspect could not get in, then went to a third address, knocked on the door and tried to walk into the apartment, but again could not get in, the report stated.

Officers went to the scene and detained the suspect, according to the report. Detectives also responded.

Life-threatening crash reported near 32nd and State

A life-threatening motorcycle crash was reported at 10:16 p.m. Thursday, July 23, in the 3200 block of State Avenue, according to a Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman.

A 51-year-old man and a woman about 50 years old were on a motorcycle when it was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound on State Avenue.

The woman has life-threatening injuries, while the man is in stable condition, according to the spokesman.

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 20s, stayed at the accident scene to speak with officers, the spokesman stated.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau and Traffic Support Unit are investigating. Anyone with information was asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS, according to police.

Saturday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 93 and a heat index as high as 102, the weather service said, with a south wind from 6 to 10 mph.

Saturday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 75 and a south wind of 3 to 6 mph, according to the weather service.

Sunday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 93 and a south southwest wind of 6 mph, the weather service said.
