Bicyclist seriously injured in accident near 1000 block of Parallel

A bicyclist was injured in an accident with a vehicle at 7:56 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, in the 1000 block of Parallel Parkway, according to a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

According to the initial investigation, the driver of a dark-colored vehicle was traveling on Parallel Parkway when a male bicyclist struck the vehicle.

The cyclist was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and is receiving care, the spokesman stated. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

The accident is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Traffic Support Unit-Critical Collision Response team.

Tonight, it will be mostly clear with a low of 41, according to the weather service. A calm wind will become south southwest 5 to 8 mph after midnight.

Thursday, it will be sunny, with a high near 59, the weather service said. A west southwest wind of 8 to 17 mph will become north northwest in the morning, with winds gusting as high as 29 mph.

Thursday night, it will be clear, with a low of 31, according to the weather service. A northwest wind of 5 to 9 mph will become calm after midnight.

Friday, it will be sunny, with a high near 55 and a light and variable wind, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be clear with a low of 40, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be sunny, with a high near 65, the weather service said.
