Leavenworth Road Association scheduled to meet Tuesday

The Leavenworth Road Association is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at the Eisenhower Recreation Center, 2901 N. 72nd, Kansas City, Kansas.

The guest speaker will be Jeff Brownlee, a retired Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department officer, who will speak about gang activity, graffiti and gang signs.

The potluck dinner and social hour will begin at 6 p.m., and will feature pepperoni pizza casserole provided by the LRA. Those attending will bring covered dishes to share.

Grinter Jamboree to be Tuesday evening

The Grinter Jamboree will feature old country music hits from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at the Grinter barn, 1400 S. 78th St., Kansas City, Kansas.


MP3 is the featured country music artist performing on March 10. The group will play country classics and take requests.


Admission is $6, and sub sandwiches and other refreshments will be available for purchase.

COVID-19 patient admitted at KU Hospital

A COVID-19 patient has been admitted at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a statement from the hospital.

The patient is in an area that has been specially equipped to keep the virus from spreading to other patients, personnel and staff, according to the statement.

KU Hospital will be updating information on the coronavirus later today.
