Three found dead at scene of house fire near North Mill and Ridge

Three persons were found dead at the scene of a house fire about 4:35 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at 29 N. Mill St., Kansas City, Kansas.

According to a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department, three victims were found during a primary search of the residence.

Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department investigators and Kansas City Kansas, Police Department are investigating the fire, according to the spokesman.

The Fire Department spokesman stated crews arrived at the scene of the single-family dwelling with smoke showing from the attic.

A pumper attacked the fire with hand lines, and a rapid intervention team was established, the spokesman stated.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation, the spokesman stated.

A cloudy, cold and blustery day is expected today with northwesterly wind gusts up to 34 mph, making it feel like it’s in the teens and 20s, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Light rain chances will return Thursday afternoon through Friday morning, the weather service said.

Tonight, it will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low of 27, according to the weather service. A west northwest wind of 11 to 15 mph will gust as high as 25 mph.

Tuesday, it will be sunny with a high near 40 and a west northwest wind of 6 to 11 mph, gusting as high as 21 mph, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, New Year’s Eve, it will be clear with a low of 28 and a light southwest wind, according to the weather service.

On Wednesday, New Year’s Day, it will be sunny with a high near 51 and a south southwest wind of 5 to 11 mph, gusting as high as 28 mph, the weather service said.

Wednesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 38, according to the weather service.

Thursday, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 50, the weather service said.

Thursday night, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 33, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 43, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 28, according to the weather service.

Weather: Snow falling in Wyandotte County

Snow was falling Sunday evening in Wyandotte County.


According to the National Weather Service, light snow with a light rain-snow mix was possible.

Less than a tenth of an inch of precipitation was in the forecast.

The low will be 29 Sunday night, with a west wind of 11 to 14 mph, gusting to 26 mph.

Monday, there is no precipitation in the forecast, with a high near 36 and a west northwest wind of 15 to 18 mph, gusting to 31 mph.
