Shooting reported on 7th Street

An aggravated battery incident was reported about 10:23 p.m. Dec. 9 in the 3000 block of North 7th Street, according to a social media report by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The victim reported getting into an argument with the suspect, according to the report. The suspect punched and then shot the victim, the report stated. The victim had minor injuries.

Victim found shot on Bethany Street

An aggravated battery case was reported at 12:43 a.m. Dec. 10 in the 300 block of Bethany Street, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Officers responded to the area on a shooting, the report stated. They found a victim who had been shot, according to the report.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is in serious but stable condition, according to police.

Dangerous wind chills today and Wednesday

Wyandotte County will have dangerous wind chills Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Wind chill values in the teens are in today’s and Wednesday’s forecasts, the weather service said.

Areas north of I-70 will see temperatures below freezing throughout the day, dropping back into the teens and lower 20s overnight tonight, according to the weather service.

Temperatures will be cold this week, with snow possible on Sunday.

The temperature was 24 at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Wyandotte County, with a wind chill of 16.

Today, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 33 and a north northwest wind of 6 to 10 mph, gusting as high as 18 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 26, according to the weather service. A calm wind will become south southwest 5 to 9 mph after midnight.

Wednesday, it will be sunny, with a high near 44 and a southwest wind of 6 to 9 mph becoming east northeast in the morning, the weather service said.

Wednesday night, there will be increasing clouds, with a low around 33, and an east southeast wind of 6 to 11 mph, becoming south after midnight, according to the weather service. Winds may gust as high as 20 mph.

Thursday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 50, the weather service said. A south southwest wind of 7 to 14 mph will gust as high as 28 mph.

Thursday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 34, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 51, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 32, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 40, the weather service said.

Saturday night, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 21, according to the weather service.

Sunday, there is a 30 percent chance of show, with a high near 34, the weather service said.

Sunday night, there is a 40 percent chance of snow, with a low of 22, according to the weather service.

Monday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 36, the weather service said.

Death on Franklin Avenue under investigation

Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating a death in the 2200 block of Franklin Avenue.

According to a police spokesman, officers were dispatched to the address at 4:32 p.m. Dec. 9 on reports of a non-responsive male.

When they arrived, they found the victim inside the residence, deceased, according to the spokesman.

The spokesman stated the identity of the victim will not be released until there is positive identification and family notification.

The death is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Major Case Unit, which is encouraging anyone with information to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
