Breakfast with Santa planned Nov. 30
Breakfast with Santa is planned from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Wyandotte County Museum, 631 N. 126th St., in Wyandotte County Park, Bonner Springs, Kansas. The host of the breakfast is Leadership 2000. For $5 per person, there will be breakfast, a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus and a craft. Family story time planned
Family story time will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 30, in the craft room at the Main Kansas City, Kansas, Public Library, 625 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. Participants will read stories, dance and sing. This program is geared to children ages 2-6.

Spanish singing lessons planned
“Clases de Canto,” or Spanish singing lessons, are planned from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, in Conference Room B, South Branch Library, 3104 Strong Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. The Spanish language singing class is taught by Sandra Zamora. For other library programs, visit www.kckpl.org.

Strawberry Hill Museum tours planned
Olde World Christmas weekend tours are planned at noon Saturday, Nov. 30, and Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Strawberry Hill Museum, 720 N. 4th St., Kansas City, Kansas. Craft workshop planned
A paper snowflake workshop is planned for children and teens from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Main Kansas City, Kansas, Public Library, craft room, 625 Minnesota Ave. Those participating will learn how to fold and design their own paper snowflakes. All materials will be provided. The program is geared to children and teens.

Police notes

Shooting reported near James Street


An aggravated assault was reported at 4:15 a.m. Nov. 29 in the 200 block of North James Street, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

A victim told police that an unknown suspect or suspects began shooting at his vehicle, according to police. Shell casings were found in the street near the area of the incident, police stated. There were no injuries.

Shoppers out in full force for Black Friday sales

Not very many empty parking spaces were visible around 9:25 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at The Legends Outlets near I-70 and I-435 in Kansas City, Kansas. While few empty space were visible here, there were still many parking spaces available on the second and third levels of the Legends parking garage on Friday morning. The Legends gave away 200 VIP bags filled with samples, treats and coupons at 6 a.m. Friday, and will give away another 200 bags to the first 200 people in line at 1 p.m. at the VIP headquarters, between Soma Intimates and Go! Calendars, Games and Toys at the west end of the shopping center. The Legends also will have a prize wheel at the VIP headquarters from 1 to 3 p.m. (Staff photo)
