Aggravated battery and assault reported
An aggravated battery and aggravated assault case was reported at 8:43 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, in the 1400 block of North 25th Street, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department. The victim told the police he was having a verbal argument with the suspects. One person produced a handgun and fired in the direction of the victim. Another person struck the victim on the head, according to the report.

Aggravated assault reported
At 12:12 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, a victim told police that her boyfriend pointed a firearm at her during a verbal argument, according to a social media post by Kansas City, Kansas, police. The boyfriend threatened to shoot her before he fled, according to the victim. No injuries were reported.

Vehicle hit multiple times by gunshots
A victim told police she was pulling out of an alley near 1400 Minnesota Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas, about 1:36 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, when she heard gunshots, according to a social media post by police. She told police her vehicle was struck multiple times. There were no injuries, and no suspect information was available.

Casa de Alabanza Worship House, in the historic Welborn Community Church, 5217 Leavenworth Road, Kansas City, Kansas, will hold a trick or treat on the front lawn from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. The public may attend to receive candy, listen to music, enjoy food and refreshments. Also, Welborn Thrift Store is located inside the church building. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Proceeds go toward maintenance of the church.

The Knights of Columbus at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd St., Kansas City, Kansas, are planning a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, at the church basement to benefit field trips and graduation fees for the eighth grade at Christ the King School.

Grinter Chapel United Methodist Church, 7819 Swartz Road, will have a Halloween Trunk or Treat event from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. Besides a trunk or treat, they will serve hot dogs, while supplies last.

The Keeler Women’s Center reopened July 1 at a new location, 759 Vermont Ave., Suite 100-B, Kansas City, Kansas.
The Gospel Non-Violence Study Group will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Keeler Women’s Center, 759 Vermont Ave., Suite 100-B, Kansas City, Kansas. The group is facilitated by Peg Burns Kerbawy.

Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St., Kansas City, Kansas, will participate in Operation Christmas Child, in which individuals may fill up shoe boxes with Christmas gifts for children.
